Letter from the Editors (Feb. 20, 2022)

To all those who are post-COVID, mid-COVID, or pre-COVID,

Welcome to Melanie Boyd’s America. Not fake-email Melanie Boyd’s America, but all-too-real, COVID-party-pooping, Spring-Fling-prospects-dwindling Melanie Boyd’s America. We know COVID is flaring. But don’t you worry—the Herald is back to spread some positivity 😉 We come to you with the perfect cure for your isolation housing boredom.

We know that COVID is in the air, but so is LOVE! In this issue, Anastasia Ibrahim (BR ’23) shares about getting gloriously fucked over on Valentine’s Day, Adhya Beesam (MY ’22) muses about how dating apps have changed the game for our generation, and Arthur Delot-Vilain (DP ’25) gives us the low-down on his experiences with the Yale Marriage Pact.

Also, should we all re-examine our devotion to Spotify? Check out Jessica Liu’s (BF ‘25) criticism of Spotify’s unethical treatment of its artists, expanding far beyond the Joe Rogan controversy.

Written warmly from the hype Herald office and isolation housing, respectively,
