Old Friend,

Design by Brianna Magtoto.

Old friend,

I hadn’t noticed the triangular constellation of beauty marks

Speckling your cheeks

Since you fetched my coat

And strolled beside me

I hadn’t noticed the sharpness of your chin

Or the softness of your voice

Since you became so dear to me

I’ve been caught up in

Adoring you

So caught up that I’ve forgotten how lovely

                                    You were as a stranger.
